if i delete the bootcamp partiton an so i have a free space on the disk and i select it to install windows, the installer try to create multiple partition for win10 but the procedure abort because the installer cannot reboot the mac to continue the installation procedure Īfter all that now i have an other option that i did not tried and is to disable the System Integrity Protection and trying to boot again from the pendrive ad let install windows in not partitioned space, but i have a little fear to mess up the current High Sierra installation ĭo you have some suggestion for my case? do you think i could try to install windows with System Integrity Protection disabled without compromise the OSX installation?ĪPFS is still very much a work in progress for Apple, and they change things in the implementation with every major macOS release. when i arrive at the choice of where to install windows i cannot choice the bootcamp partition, i also tried to convert it from FAT32 to exFAT or in NTFS, but i receive the same error message in trying to choice the partition to install windows i also have a second disk in the imac, but i put it offline at the start of the installing windows procedure using diskpart with bootcamp i partitioned the first disk and the procedure created a FAT32 partition outside the AFPS container, next and following the partition with OSX, the partition scheme of the first disk was converted in Hybrid but i convert it again in GUID (GPT) OSX is stored in a AFPS container with only a single partition under the container, i do not have the recovery saved in the disk, the mac was born with Snow Leopard and it had not it, but i could boot in the recovery mode using the web downloaded recovery i used a modified bootcamp version that let me select a win10 iso to install, i have to choice a 1803 iso cause the bootcamp procedure format the pendrive in fat-32 so it can not saves in it file bigger than 4gb I have a mid 2010 imac with High Sierra Hi, thanks for your reply, i hope you will have patience to help me: I also tried to simulate win10 installation in a single partition in an Hyper-V VM, also using older builds and also with win 7 圆4, but it seems it's not possibile under GPT scheme to have a windows installation under a single partition, every time the installer need to create multiple partitions, with the EFI boot partition separated from the partition with the windows file ĭoes someone could explain me why in my friend mac the windows installation is in a single partition? i found searching in the web from some forum that an installation of win10 under GPT in a single NTFS partition is possibile, how could i replicate this case? or did i found wrong informations? I'm trying to understand why on a mac of one of my friend the bootcamp partition is a single partition on the disk with all the needed files to boot windows 10 but if i try to install on mine (High Sierra) when i boot from the pendrive created with the bootcamp procedure i cannot assign to the insteller a single partition to install windows in, but i have to delete the previous created bootcamp partition to select not partitioned space where the windows installar try to create multiple partitions: i tried in various ways, also with the diskpart utility, deleting bootcamp partition and creating again a single partition and formatting it in NTFS
